It Looks Great on You: A Passion for Style and Community at Market 5
When you walk into It Looks Good on You, Pamela Rogers doesn’t just see what you’re wearing—she sees what it could be. With a trained eye and a deep love for fashion, Pamela transforms everyday outfits into head-turning ensembles, proving that the right accessory can make all the difference.
Pamela’s business, It Looks Good on You, is one of the vibrant vendors at Market 5 in Charles City, where she offers a curated collection of women’s accessories—from costume jewelry and handbags to scarves and shawls. Her goal? To take that little black dress hanging in your closet and help you turn it into something unforgettable.
“I accessorize from head to toe,” Pamela says. “Whatever you need to make the outfit pop, that’s what I’m here for.”
While the Market 5 location operates as a retail shop, Pamela also runs a by-appointment showroom in Richmond, where clients bring their outfits and she styles them based on where they’re going and the look they’re trying to achieve. The process can take up to 45 minutes, and it’s all about options—layering, trying new pieces, and creating something that feels both stylish and uniquely you.
Pamela isn’t new to the fashion world. With over 23 years of experience and a background in vending at events across the country—including many geared toward sororities—she’s built a business rooted in creativity, flexibility, and hustle. She even employs a small team of women to help run her Richmond showroom while she juggles her full-time role as a dispatcher for dialysis patients.
Yes, you read that right—Pamela does it all.
“I’m going to be 62 soon,” she says with a smile. “And I plan to retire next year and be here full time.”
Pamela’s decision to open a space at Market 5 is deeply personal. A native of Charles City, she still owns a home here and sees the Market as an exciting opportunity to give back to her community while doing what she loves. Her sister is the County Administrator, and she feels strongly about investing in the area’s future.
“I believe in the historical part of this county, and I think the tourist attraction is going to be huge,” she says. “When I retire, I want to be working here, seeing people, helping bring the community together. That’s what excites me.”
At It Looks Good on You, Pamela isn’t just selling accessories—she’s helping people feel confident, connected, and seen. And with Market 5 as her stage, she’s right where she belongs.
